Characterization of the bloodline:
The today´s great importance of the HOREX-line bases on his son HONIG, who became very famous through many cattle-shows, and two of his grandchildren: HORROR and HODSCHA. Whereas HODSCHA is the only one who gained great influence from a huge number of HOLB-sons, HORROR, one of the few tested HORNUNG-sons became a new milestone within Fleckvieh-breeding. Whereas HONIG and HOLB were known as bulls who sired heavy cows with good type traits but sometimes not appropriate performances the main emphasis from HORROR and his progeny lies on their reliability as far as the milk performance is concerned but lower than average milk contents and better than average type traits. The HORROR-sons HORWEIN and HORB proved to transmit excellent udders. The cows out of the HODSCHA-line are excellent dual purpose cows, with a good conformation, the male progeny often show no satisfying development. This is why a quite huge number of HODSCHA-sons did not reach the required minimum values as far as the beef performance is concerned, the same is true for the HORROR-son HORST 59873. On the male side as well as on the female side the HOREX-line will gain lots of importance via the bulls HORWEIN, HORB, HORST and HODACH during the next years.
