The PLANET-II-line produced two very promising bulls during the 70ties: PALMIN and PLASTIK. The progeny of PALMIN were quite disappointing, from PLASTIK came PLAN and PLATON. The most famous PLAN-son is the bull PLANK; PLANKTON out of PLATON is an excellent bull as far as performance is concerned, his sons transmit a high milk performance, a good milkability and a good conformation. Unfortunately sometimes the udder quality and most of all the development and the placement of the teats leave a great deal to be desired. Also the cell count is often less than average. Via PLANK and PLANKTON the PLANET-II-line will stay alive, since sons from both bulls are used for planned mating and PLANKTON is a very common damsire. (Hubert Anzenberger, BLT Grub)
