Breeding for efficiency
Balanced, productive and efficient dual purpose cattle suitable for the production of milk, beef and by-products, that can be kept in all production systems of the world.
Pustertaler Sprinzen
The Pustertaler Schecken or Sprinzen were the most productive breed in the alpine region as far as milk and beef production were concerned at the beginning of the 19th century. Through unfavourable circumstances the breed nearly became extincted up to the 1960ties.
Today breeders from all over the world show more and more interest in Pustertaler cattle because of the great potential of this breed, since the genetic disposition of the Pustertaler Sprinzen as far as milk- and beef production are concerned is enormous.
Further remarcable features of this breed are:
- Longevity
- Healthy claws
- Good character
- Robustness
- Feed conversion
- Beef quality
